Frequently Asked Questions
Curious about 9D Breathwork? Whether you're attending your first session or exploring a new approach to wellbeing, these answers will help you understand what to expect.
What is 9D Breathwork?
9D Breathwork is an immersive experience combining guided breathing techniques with layered audio, music and verbal guidance delivered through headphones.
Each journey provides an opportunity to explore your breath, notice your physical and emotional responses, and experience a different way of connecting with yourself.
Every person's experience is individual. There is no particular outcome you are expected to achieve.
Do I need previous breathwork experience?
No. Beginners are welcome.
Before your session, you'll receive preparation information and complete our participant intake, health screening and informed consent form.
Your facilitator will explain the process, safety considerations and your options throughout the journey.
Is 9D Breathwork suitable for everyone?
Not necessarily.
Some breathing techniques may be unsuitable for people with certain medical or psychological conditions.
All participants must complete ANCHOR's combined intake, health screening and informed consent form before attending.
Depending on your circumstances, medical clearance, modifications or an alternative practice may be recommended.
Your safety always comes before participation.
Can I participate after consuming alcohol or recreational drugs?
No participation is permitted while under the influence of alcohol, recreational drugs, stimulants or other impairing substances.
This applies even if you believe you are capable of participating safely.
ANCHOR reserves the right to decline, postpone or discontinue participation when impairment is suspected or safe participation cannot be established.
Relevant prescription medications should be disclosed during screening. Do not stop prescribed medication without consulting your treating clinician.
This is a non-negotiable safety condition.
What happens if I become emotional during a journey?
Some participants experience emotions such as sadness, joy, laughter or tears. Others experience relaxation or very little emotional change.
All responses are individual.
You are never required to explain, interpret or share what you're experiencing.
Our priority is to provide a supportive environment where your comfort, dignity and choices are respected.
Can I pause or stop during a journey?
Absolutely.
You remain in control of your participation at all times.
You can return to comfortable natural breathing, remove your headphones, pause or stop whenever you choose.
You do not need to explain or justify your decision.
Consent is ongoing, not just a signature on a form.
What if I don't experience a breakthrough?
That's completely okay.
Not every journey involves strong emotions, vivid imagery or significant personal insights.
There is no correct experience and no expectation that something extraordinary must happen.
ANCHOR does not promise or guarantee particular emotional, psychological or physical outcomes.
What is integration?
Integration is the process of reflecting on your breathwork experience and considering what, if anything, you would like to carry into everyday life.
It may involve rest, journalling, reflection, gentle breathing or a small practical change.
You don't need to understand everything immediately.
Integration is about supporting your own understanding, not having someone else interpret your experience.
What should I do after my session?
Allow yourself time to settle and return to your usual activities.
Rest, hydrate normally, eat if you're hungry and notice how you're feeling.
You may choose to journal, spend time outdoors or practise gentle, comfortable breathing.
If you experience significant, persistent or worsening physical or emotional symptoms, seek advice from an appropriately qualified health professional.
Can breathwork bring up memories?
Some participants report memories, images or emotions during breathwork.
These experiences can feel significant, but their intensity does not establish whether a memory is historically accurate.
ANCHOR does not interpret memories, diagnose trauma or provide psychological therapy.
If something concerning arises, support from a qualified professional may be appropriate.
Is 9D Breathwork a replacement for medical treatment or therapy?
No.
9D Breathwork is a facilitated wellbeing experience. It is not a substitute for medical care, psychological treatment or professional mental health support.
Participants should continue following advice from their treating health professionals.
What makes ANCHOR Breathwork different?
ANCHOR is built around safety, informed choice, professional integrity and respect for each person's experience.
Our role isn't to tell you what to feel, promise a breakthrough or interpret your journey for you.
We provide the conditions for you to explore your own breath, develop practical tools and reflect at your own pace.
One person. One breath. One day at a time
